Bendy-bus trial

*Scania’s Omnicity articulated demonstrator, YN54 ALO, has been tested for a 10-day period to allow uni-link to consider whether articulated buses offer a future alternative to the buses they currently operate. The bus has 54 seats, and the capacity to carry 145 passengers when fully loaded. It has a 260hp (191 kw) Euro 3 engine, with ZF gearbox and retarder.

Kickstart Bus Funding Boosts Core Uni-link Route

Success At Charity Christmas Fundraising!

Bob Goulden as Santa Driver Bob Goulden’s annual fundraising effort for the Christmas Completed appeal by local charity SCRATCH (Southampton City & Region Action to Combat Hardship) have again been successful. Thanks to the generosity of our passengers and students across the city, Bob collected just over £1000 this year, with which he bought a large number of presents for children of all ages.

Evaluation on New Routes

Crowd on busuni-link is evaluating the case for a new route that can give extra capacity by running parallel to most of our U1 route. It is also hoped for an increase on the number of buses operating in the next academic year.
